The
DFI-5000 Series joint provides
many of the qualities of
the earlier series in one
integral design.
The overlapping liners provide
for the maximum deflection
of particulate that can be
achieved without utilization
of a fly ash
shield. Fly ash shields are
easily adapted to this unit
should the design criteria
mandate their use. Materials
such as ceramic
blankets, fiberglass cloth,
stainless steel wire mesh,
and fiberglass reinforced with
stainless steel foil are all
used to construct
various configurations of our
fly ash shields.

The joint cavity
can be fitted with our INSULATION
SOCK should extremely high
temperatures or particulate
fines be of
prime consideration.
Bulk
type insulations are not recommended
for use in any DFI JOINTS where
repeated cycling or vibration
is present. This type
insulation has no memory
and voids may appear after
only one cycling of the
system.
Our
INSULATION SOCK assures full
peripheral contact and no repositioning
of our insulative materials
regardless of the
type movement the expansion
joint is subject to.
This DFI-5000 series, as
in all others, incorporates
a minimum corner radius
assures that a gas tight
seal will be achieved
around the entire periphery
of the expansion joint.
