The
DFI-3000 Series joint is
normally
utilized in systems where the
normal
operating temperature exceeds
400 degree F.
This design has several features,
not
offered in our other joints,
which can
eliminate many problems often
encountered in the field.

As shown, this style joint
has the leg of the
angle that the fabric is
bolted to pointing in
towards the breech opening.
This is
important in that it allows
the joint to be
installed/removed without
having to move
any machinery or other ducting.
Simply
slide the joint in between
existing flanges
and bolt up.
Another feature offered is
that of being easy
to insulate around. The duct
insulation
package can be installed
right up against
the companion flange, minimizing
potential
heat loss at expansion joint
connection.
Depending on the installation,
the cavity of
the joint can be easily fitted
with an
insulation sock should extra
protection be
required as a thermal barrier
or particulate
deterent.
The hex nuts within the joint
cavity can be
welded in position, or we
can utilize the
Tinnerman style cage nuts
which do allow
for some field misalignment.
