The
DFI-2000 Series joint requires
no special framework for
proper installation.
The integral flanges are
bolted directly to the ductwork
companion flanges by use
of retaining bars. The need
for additional
gasketing is eliminated with
the 2000 series due to the
fact the molded, rubber,
flexible joint is fastened
directly to the existing
flanges.
The elimination of
cumbersome, metal framework
makes this series DFI-JOINT
extremely easy to handle during
installation.
The 2000 series DFI-JOINT
is the only configurationoffered
where there is absolutely
no metal exposed to extremely
corrosive gasses, such as
encountered in scrubber applications.
The fluroelastomers normally
utilized in the construction
of these joints not only
provide excellent resistance
to attack from acidic system
flows but also eliminates
the need for flow liners
in most instances. This is
due to the inherent resilience
of the fluroelastomers used
in the belt construction,
which provide superior resistance
to abrasive media encountered
in all particulate laden
flows. Only where extreme
loading is expected should
liners be utilized. Fly ash
shields should be considered
to assist the liners in preventing
particulate from entering
the expansion joint cavity.

This configuration DFI-2000
joint is also manufactured
for high temperature applications
and is so designated by a
suffix "H" added
to the base 2000 number (2000H).
